Construction has started on the 93.4MWp Fox Coulee solar farm, one of the largest solar farms to be built, to date in Alberta, Canada. The project was developed and permitted in September 2020 by Aura Power Renewables Ltd. and acquired by Neoen, which finalised its development and conducted the project to its construction start in December 2022. The solar farm is due to be commissioned in 2024 and, once energised, will provide enough clean electricity to power over 20,000 homes, preventing the emissions of around 70,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
Simon Coulson, CEO of Aura Power said " We are proud to be involved in the development of the solar industry in Alberta and look forward to bringing many more projects through our pipeline".
Aura Power is working on a development pipeline of over c.1.8GW of solar projects in Alberta.
