Organised by the Department for Business and Trade in Portugal, the Awards celebrate and publicly recognise the efforts of Portuguese companies that have invested in the United Kingdom and the success of British companies in Portugal over the last year. In this edition, 27 companies were awarded and were lucky enough to be one of them.

By recognizing the success of Portuguese investors in the United Kingdom and that of British companies in Portugal, this event is in line with the British Government's economic growth agenda, and also marks the continuity of the strategic bilateral trade and investment relations between the two countries .

With regard to investment in the United Kingdom, in the last 12 months , the DBT registered a total of 14 investment projects, resulting in the establishment, acquisition or participation in companies and capital investment, with a total value of around 2.1 thousand million euros (£1.9 billion), generating 195 jobs in sectors such as technology, cybersecurity, creative industries, finance and construction.

British Ambassador to Portugal, Christopher Sainty said “It is with great enthusiasm and pride that, once again, we recognise and celebrate the dedication and effort of British and Portuguese companies that stood out for their success in their respective business areas and their commitment to the markets from the UK and Portugal. These organizations are part of a whole that contributes to the strengthening of economic ties, development and future potential of the bilateral trade and investment relationship between the two countries, which our commercial team at the British Embassy in Lisbon will continue to support.”

Jorge Fernandes, Aura Power Portugal Manager said "We are delighted to receive the New to Market Award which symbolises the significant investment we have made in the renewable energy market in Portugal. Construction on our 27MWp solar farm in Casal da Cortica is due to begin next month which follows the build of our 204MWp Rio Maior solar farm at the start of the year. We are working on a further pipeline of over 3GW and are proud to be able to help contribute towards Portugal’s commendable 2026 and 2050 net zero targets and bring further investment into the country”.
